Affiliated Faculty Accounts
Affiliated Faculty Account Usage
- Each DSI Affiliated faculty is allowed a single account on the cluster for approved usage.
- Approved usage includes research and teaching affiliated with the University.
- An affiliated faculty may delegate the usage of this account to another individual, as long as that person is able to register a CNET ID and that person is working under their direct supervision. If an affiliated faculty delegates their account they (the affiliated faculty) will no longer be able to access the cluster.
- This account can not be shared between individuals and affiliated faculty are not able to change their delegation more than once a year.
- Sharing logins is a violation of both UChicago and cluster policy and is grounds for automatic account (and data) deletion and removal of all future cluster privileges.
- Unapproved usage, including commercial activities, political purposes or private gain, academic or scientific dishonesty or software license agreement violations are all grounds for automatic account (and data) deletion and removal of future cluster privileges.
Affiliated Faculty Account Buy-in Policy
- If an affiliated faculty wishes to increase their usage beyond a single account then they will need to buy-in according to the buy-in policy or there is a minimum investment of $10,000, which covers two extra DSI Cluster accounts for a period of 5 years, alongside your existing faculty account. If you’d like more than these two additional accounts, each extra account will be billed at $85 per user per month.
